What did you do your X40 today?

992 posts in this topic

Stolen from another board, but a cool ongoing thread.

List what you do to your car (mods or maintenance) or what you bought for your car on an ongoing basis.

This weekend I did an oil change, and refilled my power steering fluid as it was leaking out the cap. Waiting to see if that happens again or if I just had the cap on wrong.

Also took out my universal dash pocket and put in the Volvo OEM pocket. Screwed it up a bit from acting out of frustration without thinking Evil or Very Mad (Don't ask) But overall worked out in the end.

Relocated the external mic for my head unit's built in bluetooth - Used to be inside the universal dash pocket.

Put my boost gauge in an actual pod. Made a wonderful difference in appearance, and how I can see it. Overall a productive weekend. Was wonderful to work on the car for a change instead of my house...

Possibly buying an MBC today. Haven't decided yet, but can get it (Turbo XS one) for $30. Should I????

I swapped turbos on my s40 and found the bearing for my right side axle shaft (not the hub bearing) falling apart so I put in the one from my R s40. Mad

Dusted her off, drove around the city to charge the battery, and cried a little at her decrepit state. Crying or Very Sad

Ahhh the good old days of warm weather and a clean car:

Got Dam!

I'm not lowering her because she is my only car and right now there are 5 inch deep slush and ice runnels in the middle of all the streets.

Well I ended up buying the MBC. Haven't installed it yet though. It's a basic Turbo XS bleed style valve.

Andy P wtf are you up to? Lol

I actually recently fitted a WWW.S40CONCEPTS.NET sticker

+12 HP.

I've got an X40 Nordic decal to put on, but it's way to cold to do it now. Mine gets me at least +20HP.

Today I got new bolts for my roof rails and finally got them put back on. I gave them a fresh coat of paint so they aren't faded.

I also improved my silicone hose kit by taking off the tacky zip ties they give you and putting real hose clamps on them...

Then I took a pic of the sticker I put on last night but wasn't able to get a pic.

What kind of paint did you use, and if its off the shelf paint, what part number/color name etc?

Looks good

Swiss cheese mod on the engine covers? just take the cover off and leave the timing belt cover. I rode dirty like that for the longest time. Makes for easier spark plug changes and allows you to view whether or not the oil cap seal is leaking oil all over the cam cover.
