[Wolvw's S60 R]

Good day all there in Volvo land
I'm new to you site and was hoping there might be a bofin between you guy's as I'm just not coming right with the never ending boost problem on my car.
Most people might think that having more boost will make your car go better but that is devanitly not the case. I have had my car now for the last year and a half.
In this time I have fitted a new upgrade exhaust, K&N air filter and elevate software. My car has resently started boosting 2bar as per the boost gauge.
I have changed the TCV.(turbo controll valve,but with no change the car boost up to 1.7bar in no time and then jurks and spits and hesitate trying to get the boost under controll, hampering performance and not realy delivering what she's capable of. I just cant get this problem resolved. Surly I'm not the ony proud S60R owner with this problem or that has had this problem. Please if there is any body out there that can give me some advise i will greatly apresiate it.
Car model: 2003 manual Ps: the simtoms are the same with and with out running soft ware.

Usually I would just blame Elevate, but you said it happens on stock tune also. Sure the wastegate is not bound shut or disconnected?

Thank you for coming back to me. I pulled on the arm tha leads to the actual waste gate and it moved rather easaly. ? Have you had lots of problems with elavate? I never got the car to pull consistantly with the soft ware my tuner always puts it down to sensors that is not functioning right. but with the stock file it used to pull right.just not as strong. the over boost problem is rather new.

Stateside elevate does not have the best rep. Do a search for Evolve on the web and I am sure you can find what I mean. Never used them personally but from the products I have had hands on, I was not impressed. Sure you do not have a bad valve?

Hi there. No I dont think it a bad valve as I have Two of wich one is new so that I could test. I have a newsymtom or two . one the car when runing the standard maps only boosting .5 bar.ear wheels used to switch of and not come back on when I drove at higher speeds for a wile Volvo said that the presure switch Part no: 30651694 was shot so I bought a new one and installed it now the rear wheels is of and wont switch back on at all? I am so anoyed with this car by now I feel like selling it!!!

This is kind of an old posting, but wanted to chime in just in case you still have the problem. The rod on the wastegate actuator should not be very easy to move by hand. If that is what you were referring to, then I would suspect a bad actuator.
