Nice work with the load bars. Currently I'm located 1.5 hrs from Montreal and 1.5 hours from Ottawa, but south of the border. Damn, a few hours north of me even
  2. Paulie wrote on Wed, 07 April 2010 19:06No, iam going to go to the one in Brockville, i ve already phoned them and they said they can do it and have done it before. The guys in Mississauga had never tuned our X40 so i dont wanna be the Ginny pig Ya same story I got - I didn't want to drive to Brockville haha. Anyhow good luck
  3. Are you getting it done at the Mississauga location? Last time I talked to that guy - about a year ago when I was about to blow the money - he said he couldn't do it. Needless to say it hasn't been done...

  6. Sold the MBC that I bought to install. I chickened out - don't want to risk breaking something by doing it the cheap way. When I have the money to do it right I'll do the exhaust then a chip-tune.
  7. Took off the 15" steelies and snows and put back on the OEM 16" with no-seasons. My car is now slower However it rides and handles much better
  8. lyonsroar wrote on Wed, 10 March 2010 10:47What car is that rack from? I been thinking about doing that too... I think it's an OEM Thule base rack with a fairing on it. p;rid=2610&S=a1dc0494d35ba1d2ea8bc3d0a29f4988&pl_vie w=&start=0#msg_170382
  9. I thought they had a light tint, must be a combo of the dark interior and being against the bush... I thought it looked like my front windows do. Also, my foot's in mouth because I didn't know he had them dark.
  10. tomedkaz wrote on Wed, 10 March 2010 05:45Gus...where did your tint go?!?! His windows are tinted in that pic. I love roof racks - can't wait to get mine setup.
  11. Also, I picked up some used Vortex (Thule made for VW) upright bike racks. One is gently used and the other was BNIB. They're made to fit in the t-slot of the aero bars and are aluminum like my crossbars. Pretty excited to get them configured for the roof and bikes, and to get out.
  12. In the Subaru world we call this a "Frankenstein" project - a mish-mash of cars and fabbed parts to make one bad-ALL GLORY TO THE HYPNOTOAD ride. I love it - something I would dream of doing but don't have the $ or the garage for it... I would absolutely make the time lol. My truck was somewhat like that, but it was more of a "hide everything so it looks okay and will pass safety" kind of job Did someone post a link to your build thread that I missed?
  13. Got my K&N in after being on my workbench for a bit. The temp was up so I slapped on my volvo moose stickers that I've had since the beginning of winter. Also - and best of all - absolutely finished my sub box and got rid of my temporary stereo setup. I didn't bother taking a pic of the before box. General design slant back cube with grey carpet - stuck out like a sore thumb and was the wrong dimensions to fit in this trunk effeciently (I built it for my Subie). Amp just before I took it off. It did have endcaps on it, and I did have the floor in the trunk, took this pic quickly before I forgot. After Pretty proud of this box. Best one I've ever done I think and finished really well with the interior. Can still use the luggage seatbelt at both locations if I need to. Also can get into the spare tire and put the cargo cover on without moving / removing the box. Sorry about the crappy cell phone pics, my camera batteries were dead. Amp and new cap are in with the spare tire, which I pushed from the bottom of the trunk to the top of the trunk to make space. End result: A usable trunk and seats than be fearlessly folded and cargo slammed on top without worrying about an amp underneath...
  14. Ordered a K&N filter. Decided to go drop in panel instead of DIY cone and heatshield. Just to make sure it's cool air coming in and things look stock. Also, for some reason the drop in filter was $10 cheaper than the universal filter... Also finally got my vinyl to wrap my sub box. Going be a damn near perfect match to the plastics in the hatch. Can't wait to get it finished. Couldn't find tan carpet so decided to spend an extra couple buck and go vinyl.
